SYNOPSIS
The Ministry is a 'what-if ?' Adventure Comedy unlike any other, in the tradition of 'Terry Gilliam's Brazil' and 'A Matter of Life and Death'.
A young underachiever is thrust into an extraordinary world, when his sudden death brings him face to face with God and the Devil in an alternative Afterlife. Jed becomes a pawn in a corporate power struggle of Good versus Evil, as God T. Almighty's The Ministry battles Lucifer L. Diablo and H.E.L.L. Inc for control of the maintenance and administration of the Universe.
A story of stepping through the looking glass into a comically Kafka-esque heaven and hell, that reflects more about the human condition than we would ever care to admit.
The reality-world of The Ministry is allowed to conspire to create comedy. Every element, the plot, dialog and especially the situations are fair game to be played for humour.
The characters embody the very exaggeration of their Biblical origins. They have worked together for thousands of years, and in the course of their interaction they bring out the best and worst in each other.
BACKGROUND
The Ministry is a mixture of 2D cell animation charcters against 3D toon-rendered backgrounds.
Chris Taylor won the 2005 Northern Lights Film Festival Pitch award, by presenting the project to acclaimed Film Industry judges, such as Michael Kuhn.
